Congratulations to the winners of the 2014 Peace Essay Contest, sponsored by the Richmond Peace Education Center!
The theme for the 2014 Peace Essay Contest was “Heroes of Peacemaking” The writing prompt asked students to select a person they admired as a peacemaker, and to learn about that person’s life and work. They wrote about that person’s accomplishments, and the personal qualities that enabled them to succeed. Finally, they were asked to consider how we might follow their example in our own lives and the life of our community. On May 19, our team of volunteer judges read over 450 entries and selected this year’s winners.
All the winning essays are now posted at www.rpec.org. We think you’ll enjoy reading them.
